Encino Teeth Whitening and Zoom! whitening in Encino by Lasting Impressions Dental Spa

We offer a simple and non-invasive teeth whitening process for each individual!

The Beginnings

Patients come to the Lasting Impressions Dental Spa to seek out Encino teeth whitening (also called bleaching) due to the aesthetic concern these days for whiter teeth. The process of tooth whitening is an easy and non-invasive treatment in order to change the color of the natural tooth enamel to a lighter and whiter color.  Lasting Impressions Dental Spa also caters to individuals who are interested in having Zoom! whitening in Encino.

The Process of Standard Teeth Whitening

Commonly, Encino teeth whitening requires two visits.

The first visit, impressions (molds) will be made for each patient to create custom, clear plastic trays to be used during the teeth whitening process.

The second visit for the teeth whitening in Encino, the plastic trays created will be tried on for a proper fit, and adjustments will be made if needed.  During the process, the trays are worn on the teeth with a special whitening solution either from twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks.  The time duration varies on the degree of staining solution, and the desired level of whitening to the selected teeth.

It is normal for your teeth to feel sensitive during the time you are whitening your teeth, after the process is complete the sensitivity should subside.

Advantages of Using Zoom!

  • All teeth treated simultaneously.
  • Faster treatment times.
  • Longer lasting results.
  • Reduced sensitivity.
  • Removal of stains on crowns, veneers and other restorations.

The Whitening Consultation for Zoom!

A consultation with the Encino Zoom! dentist prior to treatment will provide information to what kind of results Zoom! can provide, and an outline of what to expect in the exact procedure.  Zoom! is only applied to healthy teeth and gums.  If tooth decay or gum disease is an issue, these need to be controlled before the bleaching treatment is performed.

How the Zoom! Works

Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens the dentin and enamel of the teeth. Encino Zoom! contains a hydrogen peroxide component (25%), which is the active ingredient in the gel.  When hydrogen peroxide is applied to the teeth, the peroxide component breaks down into tiny oxygen bubbles.  It is these bubbles that eliminate yellowing and staining.

A mercury metal halide light is used to activate the gel and expedite the whitening process.  This specialized light contains a unique infrared filter that works to reduce the amount of heat (and therefore sensitivity) on the surface of the teeth during the procedure.  The internal structure of the teeth remains completely healthy and intact during and after the Zoom! whitening in Encino.

On treatment day for the Zoom! teeth whitening in Encino, a deep cleaning (prophylaxis) will be performed to rid the teeth of any debris and plaque.  Then, special eyewear will be provided to protect the eyes from the halide light, and splashguards to protect the clothing from the bleaching agent.

Post Treatment and Care

As with any whitening system, the post-treatment results can vary according to the degree of staining and the condition of the teeth.

Your Encino teeth whitening dentist will provide each patient with care instructions for your teeth after the whitening process.  Lasting Impression Dental Spa encourages all patients to visit our dentists regularly to help maintain long lasting white teeth.
